We believe that you have the right to edit your entire website without having to keep a pile of unnecessary technical details in your head: FTP access, CMS content-insertion tags, template-editing rules for different systems, server file locations, and many other things that modern webmasters are forced to deal with.

There is nothing wrong with knowing all of that. sitebrush simply takes care of routine technical tasks so that you can focus on creativity.

Dynamic websites managed by most modern content management systems, or CMS platforms, have lost the power and flexibility of editing static pages with visual website editors such as Dreamweaver, or even with plain tools like Notepad or Vim.

Instead of giving you full access to edit a page, modern CMS platforms usually ask you to edit “templates” and “content” separately. This is inconvenient for several reasons:

  1. While editing, you do not see the final result, because you are editing either a template or content that will later be inserted into that template.
  2. You have to learn the technology used by the website template and understand the limited tags used for content editing.
  3. All pages of your website tend to look the same. If you want pages with different layouts, it is often easier to make a static website.
  4. Identical website designs multiply because templates are extremely difficult to edit. It becomes easier to copy someone else’s template.
  5. A dynamic website works more slowly than a static one and creates a much higher load on the server.
Static websites edited with programs like Dreamweaver, Notepad, or Vim also have serious disadvantages:
  1. To make a change, you have to download the page, edit it, upload it back, and also handle all related files. This usually requires learning technologies such as FTP.
  2. You have to edit every page separately. For example, if your phone number changes and it appears on 1,000 pages, you have to update all 1,000 pages manually.
  3. You cannot conveniently edit your website from any computer or work on it together with other people over the Internet.

That is why sitebrush appeared: it combines the best of both worlds — dynamic and static websites. We made it for ourselves, and you will definitely like it.
